Kolkata: The Kolkata Police has summoned Md. Shami, the Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami for interrogation in a domestic violence case lodged by the cricketer’s wife Hasin Jehan, sources said.

On Tuesday morning, Kolkata Police has sent a notice and the notice is recieved by the manager of Shami. The brother of the cricket have been asked to respond in person at the Lal Bazar headquarters of the Kolkata Police, sources said adding he was likely to be questioned on allegations of “rape” brought against him by Jehan the complainant. “He has been asked to remain present on April 18,” an official said.

Earlier, Jahan has filed a DV case against Shami and also claimed interim payment Rs 10 lakh per month for her maintenance alleging she had not been getting a single farthing from her estranged husband against whom she had brought charges of adultery during his trips abroad.

Jahan last week told the court that ever since she raised the issue of her husband’s adultery he had stopped giving him maintenance. She claimed that a cheque of Rs one lakh had been issued to her. But the instrument bounced. The Court had issued summons to the opposite party Jehan’s lawyer Zakir Hussein said.
