Kolkata: This is the moment Indian foodies and MasterChef India fans have been looking forward to for thirteen weeks. India’s biggest culinary battle has come to an end, and 20-year-old Kirti Bhoutika has emerged as the winner.
In a heart-stopping finale, the four finalists–Ashima Arora, Dinesh Patel, Kirti Bhoutika and Mirvaan Vinayak–went head to head to win the prestigious title.
The panel of judges, which includes Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Kunal Kapur, and restaurateur Zorawar Kalra, was made glitterier with the presence of actress Sonakshi Sinha.
Kirti, who hails from Kolkata, is a home-baker with a skill set that has now proved to be unmatched. She is the youngest female contestant on the show to win the title. The other female winners, Pankaj Bhadouria and Shipra Khanna, have gone ahead to make their own individual mark on the Indian culinary scene–and the same is expected from this season’s winner.
“Ending this beautiful journey with a Thank you note to each one who has ever played any role in my life. I am honoured to be carrying the title of Masterchef India, and I promise to not let any of you down. Thank you for your undying faith in me,” Kirti wrote in her Facebook post after winning the competition.
