Mousumi Das, Kolkata: A Kolkata based actor Ratool Mukherjee after contributing in Bengali television and films is now thriving and making his fans proud with his latest Hindi short film ‘Being Human’ which has been selected in ‘Cannes’ film festival 2018.
Kolkata24x7 speaks with Ratool Mukherjee and director of ‘Being Human’ Surendra Hiwarale in an exclusive interview. Read below what they said.
‘Being Human’ is a Hindi short film by Hummingbee media and entertainment, directed by Surendra Hiwarale (Surya) . In June it will released on digital platform. This short film is based on the basics of relationship between a son his mother and their pet dog. Other actors with whom Ratool shares the screen are Srabani Ghosh, Madhu Kusari , Arpita Sen , Pratish Ghosh , Riwk Jaiswal.
Recently, the young sensation Riddhi Sen won the best actor National Award for the Bengali movie ‘Nagarkirtan’. And now Ratool shines at ‘Cannes’ . Hence, it is time when Bengali actors are being glorified.
Ratool played the lead role in this short movie. “ It was an amazing experience altogether working on a project like this. This is my first Hindi venture and the film being appreciated brings a lot of joy and pride. Surendra Hiwarale had made me feel really comfortable and I would love to work with him in future,” he says.
Before this Ratool has also acted in Bengali mega serials like ‘Mem Bou’ and etc , he has also has acted in recent Bengali movie ‘Chowdhury Rajbari’. This chiseled chin young sensation is now shinning at ‘Cannes’ and yet to achieve more glory as the short film ‘Being Human’ is going to hit at other International Film Festivals like San Francisco and Miami.Although in June it will be released on digital platform.
While talking about the film director Surendra Hiwarale added that “Shooting with a completely new team outside Bollywood was amazing. I couldn’t even speak Bengali but the beauty of Indians having so many languages helps. Whatever little bit Bengali I have learnt from Films and from friends came handy. I enjoyed every bit of working while shooting ‘Being Human’.”
About Ratool director Surendra Hiwarale says “Ratool is a gem just found… he has the potential to last very long in the industry. And for that he must be consistent in his craft.”
He also advices the actor to keep doing good work in future by choosing good scripts. “I wish to see Ratool become a huge actor whose talent surpasses boundaries,” Hiwarale concludes.
