Kolkata: An elderly passenger who stays is Boston in the US, had left his hand baggage containing Rs 1 lakh, medicines and other documents at Kolkata airport on Friday morning and has got it back on Saturday.
Anup Kumar Biswas, 71, his wife Sharmila were on their way to Lucknow for a wedding. They are staying at Birati in the north. An airport official said CISF officers found the bag lying on a seat near the boarding gate 22.
“We boarded the flight at 10.45am. At the hotel, when we were about to leave for lunch, we found that my husband’s bag was missing,” Sharmila said from Lucknow in the evening. She said the bag had Rs 1 lakh, medicines, and air tickets. Around 7pm, Biswas got a call from a Calcutta airport CISF officer asking him to describe the bag and its contents.
