Kin of Germanwings victims refuses compensation

Frankfurt: The relatives of the victims of the Germanwings plane crash has refused the carrier’s offer of 25,000($27,000) in compensation payments for their pain and suffering.

The lawyer representing some of the victims of the ill-fated flight on Saturday said that he had notified the Germanwings earlier in the week that the offer was inadequate. He also added that a six-digit compensation would be an adequate compensation.

Evidence shows co-pilot Andreas Lubitz locked the captain out of the cockpit of Germanwings flight 4U9525 from Barcelona to Duesseldorf and deliberately steered the plane into a remote mountainside, killing all 150 onboard.

50,000 euros have already been paid to the relatives as immediate financial assistance. The 25,000 euro offer on top of of it.
