Kids steal the show in Nursery League

Kolkata: The hunt for about 250 kids from the U-12 and U-14 ATK Nursery Division Football League which was played among 79 teams in 12 venues beginning March 23 reached its culmination with the final match of Group B between Padmasree Sailen Manna N.F.A and Haltu Matri Sangha in the U-12 category.  Padmasree Sailen Manna N.F.A came out as the winner in the U-12 category after beating Haltu Matri Sangha with a score of 3-1 during group B finals of ATK Nursery Division Football League -2015 which was being played at Surya Sen Nagar Football Ground, Khardah . Mr. Swapan Saha, Local Councilor, Mr. Subrata Talukdar, Management Committee Member, Atletico de Kolkata  and  Mr. Gautam Sarkar, Ex – National Footballer were present at the ground to motivate the players and also handed over the trophies and prizes to both the winners and runners up.


With an eye on the forthcoming 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in India, the champions of inaugural edition of ISL, Atlético de Kolkata rechristened the Indian Football Association (IFA) Nursery League Football as ATK NURSERY DIVISION FOOTBALL LEAGUE to scout for talents in the region. Nearly 2,000 players with about 23 players from each team competed in about 600 matches. Players selected from this tournament would be provided with the right exposure to hone their skills and opportunities to strengthen and train the aspirant pool for future. Atlético de Kolkata supported with the best infrastructure, facilities, transportation and the necessary financial support for the tournament. They would also provide the best players with the opportunity to further hone their skills through the academy facilities.
