Key witness in Benazir Bhutto assasination turns hostile

Islamabad: A key witness in the murder of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has turned hostile and has retracted from his earlier statement during cross examination before anti-terrorism court.

The witness was a security official of the former Prime Minister. Retired SSP Imtiaz on Monday withdrew his earlier statement before the judge who is hearing the case.

He said that adequate security was provided to Bhutto outside Liaqat Bagh where she was assassinated on December 27, 2007, retracting from his previous statement that Bhutto was killed due to inadequate security arrangements.
