Kerala’s Jatayu Nature Park, Built Where Mythical Bird Died

Thiruvananthapuram: The Jatayu Nature Park is finally open to visitors in Chadayamangalam near M.C. Road, Kerala. The site was chosen to build the park as it was the exact spot where the mythical creature Jatayu was believed to have fallen from the sky after his fight with Raavan.

The park has been built in a public-private partnership under the Build-Operate-Transfer model. Sprawled across 65 acres, the park offers recreational bounties for tourists such as a 6D theatre, a digital museum, a Siddha and an Ayurvedic cave resort, and much more. The park houses an adventure zone providing visitors with over 20 different games such as paintball, archery, laser tag, rifle shooting, rock climbing and rappelling, to name a few.

The park also has a cable car facility installed. The chief attraction of the nature park, however, is its bird sculpture measuring 200 feet in length, 150 feet in breadth and 70 feet in height. The bird sculpture replicates the mythical Jatayu and is set on a massive area of 15,000 square feet. The Jatayu sculpture was developed by film-maker Rajiv Anchal. The park will offer opportunities that will support local communities with projects such as renewable energy and rainwater harvesting. So, what are you waiting for? Book your tickets already, guys!
