Kejriwal slashes electricity bill by half


New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, who took oath as the Delhi CM on Saturday 14 Feb, started his office today by slashing off the electricity tariffs by almost half.

On his first day in office, Kejriwal directed the Finance and Power departments to immediately send proposals for reduction in power tariffs.

The Kejriwal led Delhi Government also directed to various agencies not to carry out any demolition in the city until the policies under which demolition is being conducted is reviewed.

In its election manifesto, the Aam Aadmi Party had stated that no demolition would be carried out if his government comes to power in the National Capital.
