Srinagar: Four people, including two civilians and two CRPF Jawans have been injured in a grenade attack at Pampore area in south of Kashmir on Friday.
A gunbattle broke out between security forces and hiding militants in the densely forested Wanigah area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Friday.
“The gunfight started after the killing of Colonel Santosh Mahadik in the same area in a gunfight with the militants,” said a senior police official.
The explosion occurred near a branch of the Punjab National Bank here.
“Security forces cordoned off the forest area, deploying para commandos and helicopters to ensure the hiding militants do not escape,” the official said.
