Karnataka Elections: BJP Leader Performs ‘Cow Worship’ Before Casting Vote


Rana Das & Soumen Sil, Bengaluru: Just before casting his vote, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was seen performing ‘gau puja’ (cow worship). Belari MLA B Sriramulu was seen performing ‘gau puja’ (cow worship). After the picture came into spotlight, opposition party started criticising.

BJP ledaer B Sriramulu was MLA of the Belari constituency and he is contesting against incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah from Badami constituency.

Siddaramaiah is contesting from this constituency and holds prominence here as it is dominated by the Kuruba community, a shepherd community to which the chief minister belongs.

Congress released a sting footage at the end of the election campaign where B Sriramulu was also seen in the footage. Congress lodged complaint at EC to withdraw the nomination of B Sriramulu. But EC denied to withdraw the nomination.
