Kamduni Rape: Convict Threatens Victim’s Brother


Kolkata: One of the six convicts in Kamduni rape gangrape case which has jolted the nation has reportedly threatened the victim’s brother inside the court room after the verdict was announced on Thursday.

Ansar has reportedly tried to attack the victim’s brother and said, “I will see you.” The incident has again highlighted the growing moral of criminal who took the law and enforement agencies to be a mere pawn in the chess board of politics wielding no influence or fear on he criminals.  

The city sessions court, Kolkata, held six of the eight in the 2013 brutal Kamduni rape and murder case guilty on Thursday.

Additional Sessions Judge Sanchita Sarkar announced the verdict pronouncing SK Emmanul, Aminul Haque, Bhola Naskar, Shaiful Ali, Ansar Ali Mollah, Amir Ali and SK Saiful Ali guilty. Two other accused, Rafikul Islam Gazi and Noor Ali were acquitted in the case. The quantum of punishment will be announced later this week.

Of the total nine persons accused in the case, one died in custody during the trial, while the other eight were in judicial remand. The accused had been booked under Sections 376(a), 376(d) (gangrape), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
