New Delhi: Expanding its “Y” series, Chinese handset maker Vivo launched “Y71” with 18:9 aspect ratio in India for Rs 10,990.
With a screen-to-body ratio of over 84 percent, the smartphone will be available at retail stores starting April 14 and on Vivo E-store, Flipkart, Amazon India and Paytm Mall from April 16.
“With the launch of ‘Y71’, we are releasing a smartphone which is large on display and performance and is coupled with enhanced camera capabilities,” Kenny Zheng, CMO, Vivo India, said in a statement.
The dual-SIM Vivo Y71 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with the company’s custom FunTouch skin on top. The smartphone sports a 6-inch FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4 percent. It displays 12.5 percent more content than the standard 16:9 aspect ratio, Vivo claims. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, the Vivo Y71 sports a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF at the back and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera is said to come with a lighting optimisation feature that helps in low light conditions. The front camera is equipped with an AI Beauty feature that identifies gender, age, skin tone, and more to enhance images.
The Vivo Y71 is equipped with 16GB of inbuilt storage. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3360mAh battery. It comes with a Vivo Smart Engine that the company says will improve battery performance by providing additional power management.
