Kolkata: Celebrity personality of Bengal saffron brigade Joy Banerjee has been invited in Chitra Bharati Film Festival in New Delhi. The festival is organised by Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana Trust. The festival is scheduled to be held at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi from 19th to 21st February 2018.
The festival aims to spread the reasons of Indian culture, society and decisions in cinema. The initiative will instill the Indian values and will give a valid ground of Indian culture.
According to the organizing authority, “In recent time there are so many ideological groups who use films and documentaries as the vehicle to pollute the impressionable minds of our countrymen and there is a dire need to strengthen the Indian values.”
The film festival will have a ‘reception committee’ composed of many eminent theatre and film personalities by adding dignity and esteem to the festival. Joy Banerjee will also be a part of that committee.
Siri Fort area, a 14th-century settlement of Delhi built by Alauddin Khilji. The main auditorium no. I, was built by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) during 1982 Asian Games held in Delhi. In 1986, the auditorium was taken over by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at a cost 98,147,000. Subsequently, the Ministry added three smaller auditoriums, Auditorium-II in 1992, Auditorium-III in 1996 and Auditorium-IV in 2003. The complex underwent a renovation in 2009-2010.
Reportedly, Joy Banerjee will deliver a speech on film and use of film on the recent scenario. He is hopeful on the invitation that such initiative will bring change in the way of seeing things.
