Srinagar: An army patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district came under heavy fire from militants on Thursday. It is not clear if there are any injuries or casualties.
The terrorists opened fire on the army patrol, after which an encounter ensued. At least two terrorists are reportedly holed up in Shopian. The incident comes a day after a sub-inspector was killed in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
Militants fired at the state police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) on Wednesday as the police were looking for the mastermind of the Udhampur terror attack who was believed to have been holed up in the Dachina village.
