Kolkata:The JEE results were declared by the Chairman of the Joint Entrance Board on Friday at around 2 pm. Bhaskar Gupta. the chairman of the board said that the pass percentage has remarkably increased compared to the last year. Arka Chatterjee of VKMS who also stood first in the ISC examination came first in the Engineering section. Arka was followed by Raktim Mitra in engineering. One lakh, five thousand eighty one students appeared in the engineering section out of which 89 thousand 882 students passed.
On the other hand, in the Medical section, 62,640 students took the test where 5,793 students came out with flying colours. Subhasish Saha of St.Peter’s School came first. The second place went to Vikram Paul and the third place was taken by Subhajit Roy. Apart from the engineering and the medical section, students also took the test in the pharmacy section where they had to answer in physics and chemistry. Debashree Banerjee came first among girls, taking the 14th place in he overall ranking.
The examination was held in 2 phases on May 5 and 6. Within a span of 29 days, the results were declared by the joint entrance board.
