New Delhi: Jeakson Thounaojam’s header went in vain as Juan Penaloza’s brace helped Colombia beat India 2-1 in their Group A tie of the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Monday.
India suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Colombia in their Group A contest of the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Monday night. Juan Penaloza opened the scoring for Colombia when his brilliant strike went into the net in the 49th minute. Jeakson Thounaojam’s header equalised India in the 82nd minute but the celebrations did not even last a minute as Penaloza’s second goal sealed the game for Colombia.
Earlier, The Indians showed a lot of heart in the last match against USA but went down 0-3 at the end. There are lot positives that the Men in Blue can take from their earlier match.
