Chennai: On April 24, armed robbers forced an entry into the former CM Jayalalithaa’s estate in Kodanad and killed one security guard, Om Bahadur (51).
Prime accused in the Kodanad estate bungalow security guard murder case, C. Kanagaraj (36) of Edappadi in Salem district, was killed in a road accident in Attur here on Friday night.
On April 24, armed robbers forced an entry into the former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s estate in Kodanad and killed one security guard, Om Bahadur (51). Special teams were formed to nab the accused and the police were looking for Kanagaraj.
On Friday at 8.45 p.m., Kanagaraj was on his way to his relative’s house in Sakthi Nagar in Thalaivasal, in a two-wheeler on the Salem-Ulundurpet National Highway. The police said that he took a right turn to enter the service road when a car, from Bengaluru to Perambalur in Attur, hit his vehicle and Kanagaraj fell on the road. He was taken to theGovernment Hospital in Attur where doctors declared him brought dead. Police sources said that he was on his way to see a new born baby at his relative’s house in an inebriated condition.
Attur police registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving on a pubic way) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of IPC against the car driver who is being questioned by the police. Post-mortem is to be conducted in the afternoon.
