Jawan Opens Fire on Civilians Killing Four


Chandigarh: The army man, who fired indiscriminately standing on the roof of his house in Punjab’s Sangrur on Tuesday, killed at least four people before shooting himself dead.

Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police Pritpal Singh Thind said the army, who was on leave, entered into three houses in his neighbourhood and killed four people and injured four others by opening fire.

After firing indiscriminately at public, the jawan shot himself and is dead,” said Sangrur SP Jaskiranjeet Singh Teja.  At least seven persons were injured in the incident.
