Japan continues to kill whales in the name of Research

Tokyo: Paying no heed to the international law, Japan is continuing to kill whales in the name of research. They have also declared that they will continue with their practice violating the international law.

The International Whaling Commission (IWC) demanded that Tokyo needs further justification for the killing of the mammals in the name of research. Japan has said that they are ready to submit the documents on research and answer all questions in the matter and there will be no change in the policy.

Japan has submitted a proposal about New Scientific Whale Research Program in the Antarctic Ocean (NEWREP-A), the proposal that would target 3,996 minke whales from 2015-2027.
