New Delhi: The leaders of the outfits of the Janata Dal Parivaar, which is tipped to go for an upcoming merger, the Janata Parivaar on Monday came together to pay homage to former deputy Prime Minister Devil Lal the leader who grouped the Lok Dal members and its founder on his death anniversary.
Samajwadi Pary President Mulayam Singh Yadav, JD (U) President Sharad Yadav, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and INLD leader and Lal’s grandson Ajay Chautala paid tributes to the Jat leader who also served as the Chief Minister of Haryana.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, whose party is also a part of the merger, had announced that the merger had happened and Mulayam Singh Yadav would be making a formal announcement soon.
Speaking about the merger Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “Merger means merger. There should be no doubts about it. Only one symbol and no other shall remain because different symbols will create confusion among the public. We will also ask other secular parties to join the new party to combat communalism.
