Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced 18% hike in dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees from January 2019. Govt also declared 10 percent interin relief for employees.
This time we will be giving a hike of 18% from next January,” Banerjee said at Nabanna in Kolkata on Tuesday. The hike in dearness allowance will cost the state exchequer an additional Rs 5,000 crore, Banerjee said. With this announcement, the difference between DA given by the centre and the state to its employees came down to around 14 percent.
With the release of additional 18 percent DA and merger of the Interim relief, the total Additional DA to the state Govt. employees from 1st January 2019 will be 25 percent.
Now the total DA of the state Govt employees will be 125 percent from 1st January 2019.
