Jalpaiguri’s “Golden Girl” Swapna Barman Wins Heptathlon Gold

Kolkata: Swapna Barman’s sensational performance in javelin throw confirmed her gold and today she wins it after the 800m. She ends it with a 6026 points. This is India’s 11th gold in Indonesia.

The other Purnima Hembram finished with 5837 points and finished the competition from fourth place. The third year Physical Education student at Kolkata University has also received guidance from JJ Shobha, the Indian heptathlon record holder with 6211 points.

India’s Arpinder Singh wins gold with best effort of 16.77m. India’s 53rd medal and 10th gold in Asian Games 2018.
