Jallikattu Row: Dhanush Calls His PETA Award “An Insult”

Chennai: As the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) faced the fury of pro-Jallikattu protesters, Tamil film star Dhanush claimed he was not part of the animal rights advocacy group on Thursday.

He also termed his award given to him by the NGO a few years ago as an “insult”. He urged the Centre to remove bulls from the ‘performing animals’ category in order to allow Jallikattu to be held in the state.

Dhanush also lauded the young Tamil protesters spearheading the pro-Jallikattu agitation for carrying out peaceful and dignified protests. According to him Prime Minister Narendra Modi should broadcast an ordinance to allow the sport.
