Islampur Bandh: Violence Breaks Out, Buses Vandalized


Islampur: Islampur bandh called by BJP, protesting against the death of two students and about a dozen were injured following a clash erupted between police and students in West Bengal’s North Dinajpore district on Thursday.

The bandh took a violent turn after some BJP workers allegedly vandalised two government buses and also pelted stones. Earlier, District Inspector Of School suspended on Thursday after clashes erupted between police and agitating students over the appointment of teachers at Islampur Dwaribhita High School premises.

Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said that DI did not give any information to the education department regarding the appointment of the teachers. He also added that RSS’s hand behind this nasty incident.

Ruckus broke out at Islampur Dwaribhita High School premises on Thursday over the recruitment of teachers leaving one student dead and several injured.

It is being alleged that the students resorted to road block over the issue of school teacher’s recruitment. On trying to forcefully trying to withdraw the block, brawl broke out between both the parties.
