ISL to follow EPL model in 2nd edition


Mumbai: Continuing with its endeavour to make football one of the country’s flagship sports and to leverage its association with Barclays Premier League in bringing best practices to India, officials of IMG-Reliance & Star India – the organisers of Hero Indian Super League, along with its eight participating club representatives are visiting London for a five-day workshop, commencing from  April 29, 2015.

The 23-member Indian Super League contingent will first visit the Premier League headquarters followed by the offices of three clubs i.e. Arsenal FC, Crystal Palace FC and West Bromwich Albion FC under the exchange programme to explore the latter’s expertise in nurturing and growing a high quality football competition.

The workshop will feature knowledge sharing sessions and discussions on various topics such as Premier League Structure & Governance, Branding, Youth Development & Academies, Community Development, Fan Engagement, Club Organisation and Communications.

Premier League Chief Executive Mr. Richard Scudamore along with his officials Mr. Nic Coward, General Secretary, Mr. Richard Masters, Director Sales & Marketing, Mr. Ged Roddy, Director of Youth and Mr. Simon Morgan, Head of Community Development will be meeting the ISL delegation along with the three club officials over the next five days.

The highly interactive workshop will conclude with the Manchester United versus West Bromwich Albion F.C. match on Saturday, May 2 at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, Manchester.
