ISI Racket: Indian Army JCOs Under Scanner


New Delhi: The ISI tentacles now became menacing as a few JCOs of Indian Army are now being investigated for alleged link with Pakistani military intelligence agency ISI, reported an English Daily on Thursday.

So far, 9 suspected ISI operatives have been arrested by police including a head constable of BSF. Out of the nine agents, six were nabbed from Kolkata including a student leader of ruling Trinamool Congress in the state. While Two Pakistani operatives were nabbed from Jammu and Kashmir and one from Meerut.

Sheikh Badal (59), a resident of Karaya police station area in the city was arrested by the STF of Kolkata Police near the Regional Passport Office at Brabourne Road in Kolkata yesterday. Residents of the city Akhtar Khan and his brother Zafar Khan were arrested by the STF of Kolkata Police on November 14 and 16 respectively. On November 30, three others Irshad Ansari, Asfaq Ansari and Md Jahangir were arrested by the STF on similar charges from Ekbalpore area of the city.

On the other hand, Kafaitullah Khan and BSF head constable Abdul Rasheed were arrested last week from Jammu in connection with an espionage racket being run by Pakistan’s external spy agency ISI, which used to pay them in return for confidential information. Another agent Md. Aizaz had been spotted in Meerut.

Police recovered drawings of an Indian Navy battleship constructed at Garden Reach Shipbuilding Yard from the ISI Kolkata module. Some blueprint of their planning and vital intelligence inputs about troop movement and deployment from Fort William, the headquarters of Indian Army’s Eastern Command are also now in enforcement’s hand.
