Iraqi Strike Blows Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s Convoy

Baghdad: Achieving a major success against the dreaded global jihadi outfit Islamic State (ISIS), Iraqi jets on Sunday hit a military convoy reportedly carrying the outfit’s supremo Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Iraq’s western province of Anwar.

Although the attack inflicted huge damage on the convoy the fate of Baghdadi is not yet clear.

Similar claims of attacks targeting the figurehead for the military group have been made before. It was reported that al-Baghdadi was injured in an air strike in April this year, prompting speculation that he would be forced to step down.
