New Delhi: Iranian Foreign Minister Javed Zarif has arrived in India on Thursday night for a one day visit during which he will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Zaidi arrived at New Delhi from Islamabad. He will be meeting Prime Minister Modi on Friday morning at his official residence at 7 RCR.
He will also be meeting Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari at the Transport Bhavan. He will be meeting Swaraj at Hyderabad house and will also be meeting Vice President Hamid Ansari.
His visit comes days after the historic Nuclear agreement among Iran and the other nuclear powers. Zarif is on a regional tour to inform about the nuclear agreement. In his meetings with Modi and Sushma bilateral trade relations are likely to come up and discussions regarding the increase of imports of Iranian oil, and boosting of trade are likely to take place.
Zarif and Indian officials are also set to discuss the latest developments in the region, Iran's recent nuclear agreement with world powers and the subsequent lifting of sanctions.
