Mumbai: Just when the Indian Premier League has kicked off in style, yet another controversy has cropped up. Reports related to fix matches have started emerging and once again it’s Rajasthan Royals who find themselves in the news for all the wrong reasons.
According to a report in a daily, a Rajasthan player, who is from Mumbaihas been approached by his Ranji Trophy team-mate with a fixing offer. And with that disturbing news surfacing on the day of RR’s opening match of IPL8, it’s bound to create a stir in the Royals’ camp.
The report also says that the said player informed a senior franchise official who related the development to BCCI’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) last month. The offer was to “follow a pre-decided pattern of play” in exchange of money.The player who made the offer is not part of this year’s IPL season.The said RR player has also been questioned by ACSU, where he informed that the player who made the offer shared dressing room with him during the Ranji Trophy.
