Kolkata: According to earthquake experts, if one visits the history of the Earth, then one will easily find that the frequency of earthquakes have increased worldwide in the last 100 years.
The city felt earthquake tremors twice in the last two weeks. Frictions taking place frequently between the Indiana and Washinia plates. The much important point is that the epicentre of the earthquakes were near these two plates. According to experts, frequent earthquakes are not only inevitable for Kolkata or West Bengal but for the entire world.
Not only West Bengal, but the world is in danger. Apart from the plates moving, there are solar activities, solar magnetic field and magnetic fields are creating small and big earthquakes one-by-one in several parts of the world.
According to experts, just the magnitude of earthquakes have increased, similarly the epicentres are also occuring at close areas. Sometimes it is having an effect at a distant area, sometimes its effect is in the area nearby. These things are of big concern.
Earthquake expert Subrata Kumar from Calcutta University had published a research
paper 5 years ago. The paper points out an important danger. According to the data,
the earthquakes increased gradually from 1900 to 1962 worldwide. But soon after this, it increased heavily later on.
