Indian Man Shot Dead In Chicago During Robbery


Chicago: A 19-year old Indian origin man was shot dead on Thursday while his relative was critically wounded in a robbery attempt near the US state of Illinois. The deceased man, Arshad Vora was a native of Gujarat’s Nadiad.

The incident happened around 11 am, local time on Thursday when robbers attacked the petrol station at Dolton, about 30 kms away from Chicago. The petrol station was owned by the family. Authorities have offered twelve thousand US Dollars for any information on the killers.

Reports quoted Mr Vohra’s relatives as saying that during the incident he was filling in for a family member, who worked at the gas station. A 55-year-old relative of Mr Vohra, who also worked there, was injured in the incident. He is said to be critical.

Soon after the incident, the robbers fled the spot. Reports said that no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
