Indian detained in China for alleged terror links


Beijing: An Indian tourist has been detained along with 19 others in northern china as reported by the Chinese state media. The Chinese authorities have claimed that the group was found watching ‘propaganda videos’ linked with terrorism.

Among the group, which was reportedly travelling from South Africa and was linked with a South African NGO, there were 10 South Africans, 9 British Citizens and one Indian.

The Indian officials are trying to get hold of the details of the detained Indian and to gain knowledge as to whether he is an Indian Citizen or a South African Citizen of Indian origin.

The group was detained on July 10 in Ordos. The group was reportedly in China on 47 day long trip in connection with South African NGO Gift of the Givers.
