Indian Coast Guard Evacuates Indonesian Officer Off Haldia Coast

Haldia: The Indian Coast Guard evacuated an Indonesian mariner from MT Celosia off Haldia on Thursday.

On receipt of an SOS call from the ship, the Indian Coast Guard Regional HQ(NE) Kolkata directed one of its high speed crafts C 424 for the medical evacuation. MT Celosia, a Hong Kong flag ship was on its way from Vishakapatnam to Haldia when, its Chief Officer, Mr Anton Rumlawang, aged 57 years complained of severe pain in his shoulder accompanied by acute gastroenteritis.

C 424 was sailed from Haldia with Medical team on board. At about 1600 Hrs, the C 424 arrived rendezvous point and helped shifting of patient on board Pilot Launch Rupasa. Thereafter medical aid was provided to the patient.

At present the patient has been shifted to Woodlands Hospital Kolkata for expert medical management, said Avinandan Mitra Deputy Commandent, PRO .
