India-UAE comes down heavily on terrorism

Dubai: India and the UAE on Monday came down heavily on the countries sponsoring terrorism against other states which seems to be an indirect reference to Pakistan.

Both the countries called for dismantling of terrorism against other countries and to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice. A 31 point joint statement was issued after talks between the UAE Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Narendra Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the Gulf country in 34 years.

Both sides denounced and opposed terrorism in "all forms and manifestations, wherever committed and by whomever, calling on all states to reject and abandon the use of terrorism against other countries, dismantle terrorism infrastructures where they exist, and bring perpetrators of terrorism to justice".

Both sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in law enforcement, anti-money laundering, drug trafficking, other trans-national crimes and extradition agreements.
