India to construct wall across LOC

Srinagar: In a bid to curve the infiltration bid from Pakistan, the government of India decided to erect a 10 meter high and 135 feet wide wall along the line of control in Kathua-Jammu international border.

Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Pawan Kotwal said that the process has already been initiated with the acquisition of 1600 acres of land from 160 villages in the area.

An amount of 106 crore rupees has been granted for the project. Pakistan has long been protesting any construction on the Line of control.
