India summons Pak High Commissioner over ceasefire violations

New Delhi: Over the rising instances of continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan, the Indian Government has summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Sunday. There have been continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan in which six civilians have been killed in the past two days.  

Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Balakote area of Poonch district continued through Saturday even as India celebrated the 69th Independence Day.

Ahead of the August 23 NSA meet between the two countries, Pak PM Nawaj Sharif sent his greetings to PM Modi saying promoting friendly ties between the two neighbours was in mutual interest.
