India-Pak Forces Exchange Sweets At Attari-Wagah Border

Waagah: Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan will be exchanging sweets at Attari Wagah border on the Independence Day. Both the sides have, till recent months, seen a bitter exchange of firepower in Jammu and Kashmir.

A wave of happiness and patriotism has run across the country, as people across the country can be seen hoisting the Indian flag and playing the National Anthem.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the Indian Flag at the historical monument Red Fort and proceeded to address the nation. He touched upon several topics, including sacrifices of the freedom fighters, the 100th anniversary of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, progress since 2013, Indian Space mission 2022, women empowerment, Indian economy, Kashmir – to name a few.

The recent casualty of BSF was as less than three months ago where the border guarding force lost four personnel on June 13, this year, including an assistant commandant at Chamliyal post in Ramgarh sector, the highest casualty for the force in one day. The firing took place in midnight despite both sides agreed to honour the ceasefire.
