On the other hand, Sri Lanka would seek a consolation victory after their long tour to India. The year was highly demoralising for Sri Lanka where they lost limited over series one after the another. To add to their misery, their best all-rounder Angelo Mathews is out for two weeks due to hamstring tear.
India have mostly ticked the boxes in the series. While stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form, youngsters like KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have inspired with their performances. India is also settling on Dhoni’s position up the order.
Among the bowlers Chahal and Kuldeep have done their bid and selectors would keep an eye on Jaidev Unadkat.
The wicket in Wankhede is usually considered a batting paradise and another run fest could be on the cards. India would be looking to erase the memories of their last T-20I match here when they lost to Windies in the semi-final of 2016 World Cup.
