India brings back citizens in INS Sumitra


New Delhi & Sana: The first phase of operation Rahat is successful. The central Government has been able to bring back 80 Indians on Sunday. On Wednesday, 348 Indians were brought back to the country by the government. The Indians were brought back in INS Sumitra from the war torn Yemen. INS Sumitra has already set its course for India. Aircrafts have also been kept ready to tackle the situation.

C-17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force has already taken its flight to Yemen. 4,000 Indians are still stuck in Yemen. Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen V. K. Singh has accompanied the rescue team and is bringing back the Indians from Jibuti. Speaking to all the passengers on INS Sumitra, he said, “You are safe. There is nothing to fear.

On the other hand, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted that INS Sumitra is able to carry 1500 passengers. Two aircrafts of Air India are plying in Delhi-Muscat and Delhi-Oman route.

The Indian Government on 26 March had directed Indians at Yemen to return to their homeland after war broke out in the country.
