Kolkata: Chief selector MSK Prasad termed India’s five pronged pace attack as the ‘best ever’ to tour South Africa. He feels every bowler brings something different to the table. The pace battery for India’s proteas tour comprises of Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah.
“I can’t comment on the opposition bowling attack but from our perspective we have one of the best bowling attacks that has toured South Africa,” Prasad told reporters on the sidelines of the Ranji Trophy semi-final on Thursday.
He also said that it’s good India is going to the tough overseas tour with so many wins under their belt. “It’s a wonderful bunch and more importantly we are going with No.1 Test tag,” he added.
Prasad also set aside questions about Rahane’s worrisome form and he said his perfromances overseas is inspiring and he has played enough matches to deal with such situations.
India is scheduled to tour South Africa in January and February next year for 3 tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20Is. The tour begins on January 5 with the first test at Newlands cricket stadium, Capetown.
