Dhaka: India beat Pakistan 3-1 in the semifinal of the Under-18 Asia Cup in Dhaka on Thursday. They will play the final on Friday against the home team.
On a day when news broke that India had launched surgical strikes across the LoC, it was a double blow inflicted by India as they hammered 3 goals into the opposition’s net.
At half-time they lead 2-0 before tripling their lead after the break. Pakistan pulled one back but it was too late.
Even as tension rises along the border in the wake of the recent Uri terror attacks, India showed no sign of nerves as they dismantled their rivals.
Perhaps it was fitting that it happened in Bangladesh, the country India liberated from Pakistan in 1971.
