India beat England by 15 runs to clinch the series. Another excellent contest. The result was not too much in doubt after India made 381 but Eoin Morgan took the game close, giving the hosts some doubts.
England did not get off the best of starts, losing Alex Hales early. But then, Roy and Root fought hard with a century stand. India then bounced back with three wickets in 32 balls and the tourists seemed to be getting rolled over. But Moeen Ali and skipper Morgan then revived their team with a quickfire stand of 93 from just 73 balls. India were a bit worried during the 40-over mark but Moeen Ali’s wicket opened the floodgates. In the end, it was too much left for Morgan to do and he fell after scoring a magnificent 102.
Not a series for bowlers. Around 700 runs were scored the other night and tonight, 747 have been scored. The spinners did the trick for India, with Ashwin and Jadeja going for just 110 in 20 overs combined, picking up 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was excellent at the death,
