Islamabad: Social media recently went berserk with the rumours of trouble in Imran Khan’s married life. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief and former cricketer Imran Khan tied the knot for the third time with his spiritual guide Bushra Maneka in February.

After marriage, Bushra Maneka moved into Bani Gala, the residence of Imran Khan in Islamabad. It was recently reported that after a heated argument took place between the two, Bushra Maneka left Bani Gala and moved back to her maternal home in Pakpattan in Punjab province.

An Urdu language daily reported the rumour, and the news spread like a wildfire on social media platforms. With the reports of trouble in Imran Khan’s paradise buzzing all over Twitter, many other publications, too, covered the story.

Taking the matter into hands, PTI sources, who had been silent over the matter, slammed those who took the story up by saying that the report has been falsely reported without even consulting or confirming with PTI media coordinators or the man (Imran Khan) himself.

In a notice addressed to Roznama Ummat, an Urdu daily, PTI has slammed the editor for carrying the story which is based on fake rumours. Moreover, PTI has demanded a written apology from Roznama Ummat along with a story denying the report to be published on their website.

Similar notices have also been served to other online publications, asking them to take down the story immediately or face legal implications.

The story revolves around many several reports that claim to be the reason behind Bushra Maneka departure from Imran Khan’s house.

One of the rumours suggests that Imran’s irritation with Maneka’s children staying in Bani Gala for too long caused the latter to pack her bags. Other rumour claims that Imran was asked to provide air tickets for Maneka’s children, which he refused. The issue turned into a heated argument between the two.

While different rumours continue to pour in, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) argues that no one has taken the time to confirm or verify the news with them before reporting it. Taking some serious action, PTI decided to serve notices to people and publications for speculating.

PTI sources have confirmed to India Today that the rumors are completely false and based on lies.

Expressing disregard over the ongoing “hew and cry” over the issue, PTI leadership has questioned the credibility and objectivity of journalism being practiced by many media outlets.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Imran’s personal life has been in the news for the wrong reasons. His previous marriages were also marred with controversies.

Imran was first married to Jemima Goldsmith and has two sons from the marriage. He then married TV anchor Reham Khan in 2015 but the marriage ended within 10 months.
