IIT-JEE topper’s dream to study engineering hit by financial crisis


Jammu: Zahid Qureshi, the boy from Jammu and Kashmir who cracked the IIT-JEE despite all odds has been hit by financial difficulties while taking admission to IIT.

He was only two months old when his father was gunned down by suspected miltants and his mother left him in the care of his grandparents and married another man.

Zahid cracked the IIT entrance examination and secured 89th rank. He cracked the examination in the first attempt. He came to know about the examination only after his 12th examinations.

The student has to let go his seat due to financial problems since he is not even able to deposit Rs 10,000 for counseling.

The young Zahid wants to be a software engineer and pursue a post graduate diploma in Management from IIM.
