Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Wednesday heard two cases filed by CPM. Court has clearly stated that it would not interfere in the nomination process. CPM said it will move to division bench for justice. CPM leader Bikashranjan Bhttacharyya said, “If nomination is accepted via WhatsApp why not E-nomination?
According to Court, CPM came up with series of allegations including unlimited chaos in Panchayat and alleging TMC for terrorrising people. They added, BDO, SDO or DM office, the place for filing nominations. So oppossitions could not submit nomination in most of the places.
Single-judge bench Subrata Talukdar heard the case in presence of CPM leader and lawyer Bikashranjan Bhattayacharya. Bhattyacharya added, “According to 2013 Panchayat Act E-nomination is legal. So why SEC not allowing in online ? Replying to the question KAlyan Banerjee the opposition lawyer added, “There is no act like this in 2013, E-nomination is not valid.”
Referring the recent case of Bhangor Bikashranjan added, “If nine people can file via WhatsApp why not online ? After that court announced that it won’t interfere in E-nomination.
