Raipur: A powerful IED blast near Dharampenta police camp in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Friday injured two police men. The blast took place when the police jawans were providing security to an under-constriction bridge near Dharmapenta village.
The Maoists also opened fire on the police team after the blast but managed to escape from the spot after the police team’s retaliatory fire, informed an officer of Bastar police.
Constable Ajay Khakha and Tirki suffered injuries due to the explosion and are being airlifted to Jagdalpur hospital for treatment.
Dharmapenta police camp was set up recently on the border of Telangana and Chhattisgarh hampering free movement of the rebels in the area.
