I have been Framed: Trinamool MLA


Diamond Harbour: Highlighting the internal strife and faction feud within the ruling Trinamool party in West Bengal, arrested Trinamool MLA Deepak Haldar pleading innocence on Tuesday accused a faction of Trinamool of framing him.

Haldar was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in the Fakir Chand College clash in which two Trinamool faction clashed with each other to wrest control of the students union in the college.

Haldar has been produced at the Diamond Harbour court on Tuesday where he has been granted bail. The court also granted bail to two others. Although Haldar was caught marauding in the college by TV footage police booked him under bailable sections.

Furious over his arrest Haldar told media, “I have been victimized by a section of party leader. It is a conspiracu to deny me ticket for the next Bidhan Sabha polls in the state.”

Hundreds of Halders followers crowded the court premises on Tuesday. Police deployed heavily to contain any unwanted situation.
