Hyderabad: Mild earthquake occurred in the Prakasam district and parts of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday morning.
According to the National Geophysical Research Institute, the quake measured 4 on the Richter Scale and the tremors were felt at 6:09 am with its epicenter near Ongole in Prakasam district. The earthquake was felt for about five seconds and there were no loss to life and property.
NGRI Chief scientist R K Chaddha said, “The tremors were felt at a distance of around 60-70 km from the epicenter. It was a low intensity quake and the area is seismically active with small magnitude earthquake, it is nothing to worry.”
