Update: Explosion in Kabul claimed 8 lives, reports Afghanistan media.
Kabul: A large explosion hit the centre of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Wednesday, killing four and injuring 22, health officials told Reuters.
The cause of the blast close to the Massoud Circle remains unclear, but security officials are reportedly claiming it was a suicide bombing.
The officials also said a number of nearby civilian vehicles were damaged in the blast.

A witness told Al Jazeera that the attacker was targeting a National Defence Security (NDS) checkpoint.
He said, “There are dead bodies lying on the road here, several are from the NDS.
“Police are clearing the area and the city seems on high alert.”
